NEW YORK, MARCH 18, 2011 (Zenit.org).- Benedict XVI's newest book, released last week, already made the New York Times bestseller list.
The Pope's book, "Jesus of Nazareth Part II: Holy Week -- From the Entrance into Jerusalem to the Resurrection" (Ignatius Press), which was released March 10, appeared among the world's most popular books in the recently publicized March 27 bestseller list.
Mark Brumley, president of Ignatius Press, stated: "We're delighted that 'Jesus of Nazareth: Holy Week' is an instant New York Times bestseller.
"It means that many people across the country are discovering Pope Benedict's insights into the life of Jesus Christ."
"In this way," he added, "more and more people will encounter the real Jesus, which was the Holy Father's goal in writing the book."
Brumley concluded, "It would be great if 'Jesus of Nazareth: Holy Week' became the number one book in America!"
